As the Director of The Storybook Project of Texas, she collaborates with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice to let mothers record themselves reading books, which are then sent to their children. Having witnessed the commitment and empathy of the staff involved in this process, Jill is looking to bring the enchanting story, Extra Yarn, to life for more families. With the $500, Jill will purchase 50 copies of this book, allowing mothers to share its warm message of kindness and generosity with their kids. In her eyes, a simple read-aloud can become a cherished memory, bridging the distance with love and connection.
