Victor is opening a safe-haven coffee cafe for LGBTQI+ individuals in the Rutile mining host community of Lower Banta, Southern Sierra Leone. As a 37-year-old activist with over 15 years of experience in Sierra Leone, Victor has steadfastly championed LGBTQ+ rights and sustainable practices in a country where such advocacy is perilous. Raised in a mining community, he knows firsthand the struggles faced by marginalized groups. With $500, Victor will rent a modest venue and stock it with coffee supplies and seating, creating a discreet, welcoming space for connection and support. This cafe isn't just about serving coffee; it's a beacon of hope and dignity for a community seeking safety and solidarity in isolated surroundings.
