Kitgak spends his days helping young people in Nigeria turn climate anxiety into action, writing late-night applications with just good intention and spotty Wi-Fi, and fostering spur-of-the-moment kindness. With the $500, he will host “The Repair Table” — a one-day event inviting cobblers, tailors, phone fixers, bike repairers, and barbers to mend items for free. The budget covers tools, materials, and compensation for artisans as well as refreshments for volunteers, aiming for kindness through dignity. Attendees will leave notes about how the repair will give them a second chance, forming a “Wall of Second Chances.” Kitgak's vision champions generosity that restores dignity — in a world fixated on replacement — showing people and their dreams are worthy of repair.
