Lorna is supporting families facing the trauma of neonatal care without a shared language. Having dedicated her time to making clothes for premature babies and supporting parents through the NICU experience, she’s focusing on those disproportionately affected — families who don’t speak English as a first language.

Through her Kindness Project, Lorna will create and distribute care parcels in high-need NICUs across the UK. Each one will include bilingual communication cards, translated medical guides, a comfort octopus for premature babies, and small human touches like a tea sachet — all designed to reduce confusion, ease stress, and restore a sense of connection in an overwhelming environment.

With $500, she’ll pilot the first round of these evidence-informed parcels — tackling a long-documented gap in neonatal care and creating a simple, human bridge between families and the professionals caring for their babies.
