As a dedicated medical student at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre, Salimu has witnessed too many accident victims arrive without first aid, sometimes costing precious lives. With the $500, Salimu will train 15 bodaboda riders to administer crucial first aid, focusing on bleeding control, safe transport, and quick response on accident scenes. Each rider will be equipped with a basic first aid kit and a marker identifying them as trained responders, and they'll coordinate through a simple communication network during emergencies. Salimu's project tackles the vital period immediately after an accident, the first 10 minutes, where quick, informed actions can dramatically improve survival and outcomes before hospital care is available. Documenting this initiative, Salimu aims to show the profound impact of empowering everyday heroes on the road.
