A physiotherapist in training and community-minded Rotaractor, Simon was struck by a small vegetable garden at a geriatric centre being slowly destroyed by insects. Knowing the power of fresh food, routine and purpose for older bodies and minds, he is using $500 to build a simple greenhouse, buy seedlings, soil and tools, and work alongside staff and residents to bring it to life. With the residents choosing what to plant, this project restores not just the garden, but a sense of agency, nourishment and daily care - helping something meaningful grow at the foot of Kilimanjaro.
