Through listening to grave diggers' harrowing accounts of their unsafe work conditions, he felt compelled to act. With $500, Sylvanus will purchase personal protective equipment such as heavy duty gloves, rubber boots, masks, and first-aid supplies, and deliver vital safety training directly in cemeteries around Freetown. By elevating two senior diggers as peer safety champions, he'll ensure the knowledge and impact extend far beyond his workshops. These men lay others to rest with dignity, and Sylvanus is determined they receive the same dignity in their work.
