Growing up in Kibosho, Tanzania, Heavenlight has watched neighbors leave for early climbs, often underdressed for the mountain's biting cold. Now a family nurse, she knows the preventable dangers of frostbite and sees the human side the tourism economy overlooks. With $500, Heavenlight will buy wool gloves and socks from Moshi, personally handing them out to porters at the mountain gate, asking names and jotting notes in her notebook. She plans to bring tea and snacks to foster familiarity and warm exchange. Her mission is simple and heartfelt: to ensure porters feel recognized and valued, not just by what they carry but by who they are, one glove, one sock, and one story at a time.
