As a Logistics Hub Officer and LGBTQI activist in Kenema, Sierra Leone, Ahmed is driven by the struggles facing LGBTQI individuals due to healthcare discrimination and barriers to education, which lead to widespread unemployment. He has been a dedicated advocate for creating inclusive spaces and safeguarding rights for sexual minorities, especially addressing familial abuse directed at gay and transgender youth. With the $500, Ahmed plans to launch "From Farm to Cup Inclusive Food & Coffee," a project turning a local café into a vibrantly inclusive hub. This initiative will support lesbian and transgender vegetable farmers by buying their produce at fair prices, crafting delicious food offerings from their crops, and creating economic opportunities for them within the café. By harnessing the power of a simple cup of coffee, Ahmed aims to bolster community dignity and economic growth, and eventually develop a revolving loan for ongoing empowerment within the LGBTQI community.
