Enjoying a vibrant life that feels like a roller coaster, Jonie has a soft spot for the elderly in her community and a passion for helping them find joy in the simple rhythm of gardening. With the $500 grant, Jonie will create and hand-deliver gardening kits brimming with flower and vegetable seeds, pots, soil, and basic tools to senior citizens. She plans to spend time with each recipient, swapping stories and basking in the shared love of tending to small gardens. In a world that often overlooks its elders, Jonie’s mission is to plant little patches of happiness, showing her elderly neighbours that they are cherished and remembered.
