Believing the modern focus on efficiency leaves many sleepwalking through life, Mark feels called to help others savor their journeys around the sun. Losing his grandmother to loneliness, he knows firsthand the pain of missed connections and carries her life wisdom about making great stories as his mission. With $500, Mark will create 50 pilot CHATR BOX units—decorative boxes that offer incentive programs in cafes and homes to encourage putting down phones and engaging in genuine conversations. Each unit promises the spark of thousands of moments where the simple question, "How are you, really?" could transform someone's world. Mark's heart beats for a future lit by laughter and real human connection, making sure no one feels they have to say an early goodbye.
