Having designed ski clothes alongside disabled athletes, Alice knows firsthand the frustration of gear that's poorly adapted for the people who need it most, after her own experience with sudden paralysis. She spent two decades in the outdoor gear industry before deciding to innovate directly with those affected, leading to the successful creation of a prototype adaptive sit-ski jacket used in the Winter Paralympics. With the $500, Alice plans to host a free community meetup in London for disabled athletes, adaptive sportspeople, and allies to foster collaboration without formalities. This fund will cover travel costs and refreshments, ensuring accessibility for all participants. The true magic lies in bringing together those too often excluded, planting the seeds for groundbreaking designs through spontaneous dialogue and shared experiences.
