As a passionate animator and storyteller training as a death doula, Jocelyn is drawn to memory, transformation, and the topics we tend to avoid, giving their projects a deeply human touch. With the $500, Jocelyn will collaborate with someone nearing the end of their life to create a bespoke seven-minute film that captures their essence and story. The film will be unveiled at a living memorial, shared with loved ones, and gifted in a handmade metalwork box complete with a small projector. By covering room rental, food for the gathering, and a metal-embossing lesson to personalize the keepsake, Jocelyn ensures the craft and celebration are free for their participant. This project is a beautiful gesture of celebration, allowing stories to echo through time and bringing family together in a unique moment of life-affirming connection.
