As an engineering student from Bridgewater, New Jersey, Divyansha co-founded G.I.R.L.S. (Generation of Innovators, Researchers, and Leaders in STEM) at just 15. Now, they connect with over 16,000 students across 30 U.S. states and 30+ countries. When she asked the girls in Sierra Leone what stops them from studying, it was not motivation, but light. With $500, Divyansha will purchase 50 solar lamps from a Sierra Leonean distributor, keeping the support local and efficient. $30 will ensure the delivery, while $20 will go toward printing care guides. Each lamp will have a handwritten card from a G.I.R.L.S. member abroad, creating a personal connection. This project isn't just about lighting – it's about giving evenings back to girls eager to learn, and uniting them across continents.
