As a Maasai communications expert working closely with Indigenous women and youth to protect their culture, Melau is committed to empowering his community through innovative projects. With the $500 grant, Melau plans to purchase around 800 to 1,000 seedlings of native species and fund the costs of transporting and planting them at the Naramatisho Women’s Centre. The Maasai women will spearhead the initiative, nurturing the trees while educating visitors and future generations about traditional medicinal uses. This initiative plants more than trees; it cultivates a space where ancestral wisdom meets ecological restoration, blossoming into a testament of growth and resilience.
